Privacy Policy for The Grow Up

Introduction

The Grow Up ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our baby tracking application.

Information We Collect

Data You Create

When you use The Grow Up, you create and store:

• Feeding sessions - Start times, duration, feeding type (breast/bottle), side, amount, and notes
• Nap sessions - Start times, duration, quality, environment, and notes
• Diaper changes - Timestamps, type (pee/poop), and notes
• Baby profile - Name and birth date (optional)
• Settings - Your preferences like feeding intervals

Data We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect, access, or store:

• Your name or email address
• Your location
• Device identifiers
• Usage analytics or statistics
• Diagnostic data
• Any information about you personally

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for app functionality:

• Displaying your baby's feeding, nap, and diaper history
• Calculating statistics and intervals
• Showing Live Activities on your lock screen
• Syncing between your devices via iCloud
• Sharing with your partner when you explicitly enable Partner Sharing

We never:

• Analyze your data for marketing purposes
• Share your data with third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Train machine learning models on your data
• Access your data on our servers (we don't have servers!)

Where Your Data is Stored

Local Storage

All data is stored locally on your device in a secure database using Apple's Core Data framework.

iCloud Storage

If you're signed into iCloud, your data automatically syncs to your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This means:

• Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Only you can access your data (we cannot see it)
• Your data syncs across all your devices signed into the same iCloud account
• You can disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings → iCloud → The Grow Up

Partner Sharing

When you enable Partner Sharing:

• You create a secure CloudKit share link
• You manually send this link to your partner (via iMessage, AirDrop, etc.)
• Your partner accepts the invitation
• Your baby tracking data syncs between both devices in real-time
• Only invited partners can access shared data
• You can stop sharing at any time from Settings

Data Security

We take security seriously:

• All data is stored using Apple's secure Core Data framework
• iCloud sync uses end-to-end encryption
• CloudKit sharing uses Apple's secure sharing infrastructure
• We never transmit your data to third-party servers
• No passwords or authentication credentials are collected or stored

Children's Privacy

The Grow Up is designed for parents and caregivers to track their baby's activities. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The data you enter about your baby (feeding times, naps, etc.) is stored solely for your personal use and is not shared with us or any third parties.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all your data anytime in the app
• Export: (Feature coming soon) Export your data to CSV
• Delete: Delete individual entries by swiping left or tapping the X button
• Stop Syncing: Disable iCloud in iOS Settings
• Stop Sharing: Revoke partner access from Settings → Partner Sharing

Deleting Your Data

To completely delete all your data:

1. Delete The Grow Up app from your device
2. Go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → The Grow Up → Delete Data

This permanently removes all The Grow Up data from your iCloud account.

Third-Party Services

The Grow Up uses only Apple's first-party services:

• iCloud/CloudKit - For data syncing and partner sharing (Apple's Privacy Policy applies)
• ActivityKit - For Live Activities on lock screen

We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do:

• We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We'll notify you via the app if changes are significant
• Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy

International Data Transfers

If you use The Grow Up outside the United States, your data may be stored on Apple's iCloud servers in various locations worldwide. Apple's iCloud service complies with applicable data protection laws including GDPR for European users.

California Privacy Rights

If you're a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect (see "Information We Collect" above)
• Delete your personal information (see "Deleting Your Data" above)
• Opt-out of sale of personal information (we don't sell any data)

GDPR Compliance (European Users)

For users in the European Economic Area:

• Legal basis for processing: Your consent and legitimate interest in using the app
• Data controller: You are the controller of your data; we are merely the processor
• Data portability: You can export your data (feature coming soon)
• Right to erasure: You can delete all data by removing the app and iCloud data
• Right to object: You can stop data processing by not using the app
